RMIT University: Welcome Events

At the start of each semester, RMIT Student Life host the Welcome Events during the Orientation period. These events are large scale parties that welcome new and returning students to RMIT University. I worked in a team of six to deliver the Welcome Events for Semester 1 2019 which included VCE Welcome Lunch, Brunswick Lunch (Vocational Education), Carlton Laneway Festival (Vocational Education), Global Experience BBQ, Brunswick Garden Party (Higher Education), Bundoora Takeover, and Bowen Street Party (Higher Education).

The events bring out thousands of students at the various campuses. Each event is free, open to all RMIT students and staff, and has a range of free food and entertainment, as well as a selection of sponsors and internal stallholders. My main role was to lead all marketing and communications, staffing and rostering (managing up to 50 casual staff members), finances, and managing the check-in and registration process on the days of the events.
